Since 1980

Engineering automation that stands the test of real production

Since 1980, Doms Automation has been engineering industrial automation systems designed to perform reliably on the production floor: from conveying systems to robotic handling and mobile robots.

Our origins

From metal construction to integrated automation

Gebroeders Doms was founded in 1980 as a two-person company, initially focused on integrating milking machines in the agricultural sector. This early work quickly evolved into the design and manufacturing of mechanical parts and metal constructions for civil infrastructure and industry.

In the 1990s, we shifted our focus toward general industry, developing custom-engineered machines such as turntables, shuttles, and pile turners. During this period, we introduced 3D engineering tools and built our electrical department in-house, allowing us to design and manufacture switchboards as part of fully integrated systems.

Growing through integration

Expanding capabilities, not complexity

2000s

As production demands increased, so did our ambition. In the 2000s, we expanded our facilities and relocated to Brecht, creating space to manufacture mechanical components in-house and to build complete end-of-line and intralogistics solutions.

2010s

Robotics became a natural next step. Starting with a single welding robot, we developed deep expertise in robotic handling throughout the 2010s. By integrating robots with conveying systems, we enabled flexible palletizing, depalletizing, and handling solutions that adapt through software rather than structural changes.

2020s

In the 2020s, mobile robotics further expanded our scope. By adopting sensor-based navigation, we introduced autonomous mobile robots capable of operating without fixed guides, offering clients flexibility to reorganize layouts without major investments.

How we work

Engineering built around your production reality

Every project at Doms Automation follows a structured, end-to-end engineering approach designed to reduce risk and ensure long-term reliability.

Project management

From concept to maintenance, projects are managed milestone by milestone. A dedicated project manager remains the single point of contact throughout the entire process.

Engineering

Mechanical, electrical, and automation engineering work in close collaboration. Through simulations, clients can already experience the installation before production starts.

Production, assembly & in-house testing

Mechanical parts and switchboards are produced in-house. Once assembled, automation engineers perform Factory Acceptance Testing to validate performance before on-site installation.

System training

Operators and technical staff receive structured training, combining functional explanations with hands-on practice.

Automation & control

Our expertise in PLC systems and robotic languages enables reliable process control across a wide range of industrial applications.

Service & interventions

We support installations throughout their lifecycle with preventive maintenance, service agreements, and direct access to automation engineers for rapid diagnosis and intervention.

Let’s build automation that fits your reality

Whether you’re optimizing an existing production line or planning a new installation, we’d be glad to explore how automation can support your operation.
